An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
